David is an assistant professor of Game Design and Development at Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Interactive Games and Media. He is also an affiliate of RIT’s MAGIC Studio and collaborates with the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. He earned his PhD from the games and learning group in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His book, the Arts of LARP, discusses empathy, ethics, and game development through the lens of face-to-face, theater-style live-action role playing, including discussions of development principles that apply to digital role play as well.
