Handbook of Research on K-12 and Blending Learning
Handbook of Research on K-12 Online and Blended Learning (Second Edition)
The Handbook of Research on K-12 Online and Blended Learning is an edited collection of chapters that sets out to present the current state of research in K-12 online and blended learning. The beginning chapters lay the groundwork of the historical, international, and political landscape as well as present the scope of research methodologies used. Subsequent sections share a synthesis of theoretical and empirical work describing where we have been, what we currently know, and where we hope to go with research in the areas of learning and learners, teaching, content domains, student support structures, instructional design, learning environments, global implementations, and emerging issues. There are at least three main goals for completing this work: To continue to strengthen our field by providing clear evidence of what is known and what is yet to be known; To provide an empirical resource for researchers (new and experienced) as well as parents, media, administrators, and policy officials; and To set in motion a continued close examination of our field.
